As you have come to my website, it would seem likely that something is troubling you. Perhaps you are not quite sure what it is that worries you. Or perhaps you have a clear idea, or some sense of your difficulties, but just don't know how to manage them. These issues may be of the kind that make talking to friends and family difficult. However, talking to a professional counsellor can provide you with the safe, confidential environment you need. A place where you feel you can try to speak of what is troubling you, a place where you can be listened to - and heard. Speaking to a stranger may feel quite difficult to begin with, but through the relationship we create in our work together, you will achieve a clearer understanding of what is causing you anxiety. At the same time, patterns of relating emerge, while inner thoughts and feelings can be explored and worked through. This then allows for personal insight, acceptance, growth - and the possibility of change.
I see individuals and couples for face-to-face short-term or long-term counselling, daytime and evening appointments available. I offer (if necessary) online counselling via FaceTime or Skype.
I am an accredited (2009) BACP counsellor and a senior NHS clinician, having worked in the NHS in Sutton and Merton for some years as well as running a private practice. I have a BSc in Integrative Counselling from Roehampton University.
I have undertaken the BICA Foundation Course in Infertility Counselling, I therefore have a particular interest and experience in fertility issues. One of the key areas of my work is couples counselling in which I have been trained.
I work from my home in Southfields as I have a designated therapy room; this is equidistant between East Putney and Southfields Tube stations on the District Line. There is ample free parking. Bus routes nearby, 170, 39 and 156.
I offer (if necessary) online counselling via FaceTime or Skype.
I deal with a wide variety of different areas of counselling, covering everything from eating disorders, depression, bi-polar disorder, to sex addiction and phobias.
I consider my job is to help you come to terms with your circumstances, allow feelings to be aired in a safe non-judgemental environment. Maybe you just need to communicate better, or perhaps circumstances have derailed the relationship and you need help either getting it back on track or deciding how to proceed.
I have considerable experience counselling individuals and couples who are dealing with the complex feelings connected to having or not being able to have children.
